Vision & Values
Vision
The Western Springs Christian Reformed Church is and will continue to be a loving and thankful Reformed community in Christ committed to spiritual revival in our congregation and a spiritual awakening in the communities in which God has placed us.
Values
We believe that God nourishes the mind and soul and motivates the heart of the believer through the faithful preaching of the Word. Gospel proclamation is vital and central to the spiritual health and well being of the congregation.
We believe that our covenant keeping God asks us to think of and treat our children as holy. Therefore, in addition to our church's educational programs we believe it is necessary to urge all our members to support the local Christian Day Schools.
We believe that Jesus commands us to go into all the world to proclaim the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ. Therefore, we believe we ought to faithfully and generously support the work of missions.
We believe that one of the greatest joys and benefits of membership in the body of Christ is the love we have for our brothers and sisters. Therefore we believe that we ought to practice hospitality and build a caring community.
We believe that every Christian is called to grow spiritually. Therefore, we believe that every Christian ought to be engaged in some form of continuing education in Christianity. We believe that prayer truly is the chief part of thankfulness. We believe a praying congregation is central to the life of the church and vital for its growth in maturity and numbers.
We believe that every individual member is called to witness to the hope which is ours in Christ. Therefore, we believe that each member is called to reach out to the lost with the good news of life in Christ.
